Veolia Water Technologies
Veolia Water Technologies (dba Kruger), provides a complete range of innovative technologies and solutions to the municipal market to include water, wastewater and biosolids treatment and smart water digital services.
Combined sewer overflow may contain particulate and soluble wastes from domestic sewage, industrial, and commercial wastewaters. These waste products include suspended solids, bacteria, viruses, nutrients, toxic pollutants, oil, and grease and debris, posing significant risks to receiving water quality, public health, and aquatic life.
Kruger applies its Actiflo® process for high rate ballasted clarification and removal of total suspended solids and particulate biochemical oxygen demand materials during wet weather conditions. The Actiflo® effluent typically achieves higher than 90% removal, making flows easily disinfected with UV or chlorination. The Actiflo® process can be used in parallel with a conventional water treatment plant or at a satellite facility within the collection system. Offering unlimited treatment capacity, the Actiflo® process allows the elimination of overflows. Process trains can be used for primary and/or tertiary treatment during dry weather flows. The effectiveness of Actiflo® in treating wet weather flows has been proven at facilities around the world.
Hydrotech Discfilter is simple, effective, and economical filtration in a small footprint. By employing woven cloth filter elements installed on multiple discs and utilizing an inside-out flow pattern, this versatile filter is appropriate for a variety of applications, including tertiary wastewater filtration, water reuse, phosphorus removal, membrane pre-treatment, and stormwater treatment.
Kruger offers biological solutions to help systems comply with nitrogen and phosphorus limits that are compact, robust, resource efficient, and easy-to-operate. From basic nitrification to enhanced nutrient removal, Kruger has the most comprehensive line of innovative biological treatment solutions, including AnoxKaldnes™ IFAS/MBBR fixed film, ANITA™ Mox anammox deammonification, BIOSTYR® BAF, Activated Sludge oxidation ditch, and NEOSEP® MBR treatment processes.
Kruger's biosolids treatment technologies focus on performance enhancement, renewable energy, beneficial reuse, and minimization. Kruger's BioCon™ Sludge Dryer operates at Low temperatures to allow the process to utilize a variety of waste heat sources. The BioThelys™ Thermal Hydrolysis process is an anaerobic digestion system enhancement that results in greater biogas production. BioMet™ Sludge Co-digestion combines hydrolysis and anaerobic digestion, while Ecrusor™ acts as digestor preparation turning waste facilities into resource energy. And finally Struvia™ acts as an efficient phosphorus reuse system.
If PFAS is of concern, Kruger has a wide range of options from testing to tailored solutions for PFAS removal and treatment.
